Are you an experienced Health & Social Care Lecturer looking for a new teaching opportunity this September?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of Further Education colleges in Peterborough for passionate and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Lecturers to join their teams on a temporary basis. Demand for Health & Social Care specialists continues to grow across the FE sector, with opportunities available on both full-time and part-time timetables.

The Role

As a Health & Social Care Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality teaching to learners studying a range of Health & Social Care qualifications. You will support students in developing the knowledge, practical understanding, and professional skills required for careers within the health and care sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Health & Social Care programmes across Levels 1-5.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Assess learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with awarding body and college requirements.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and quality assurance processes where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • Previous teaching, training, assessing, or industry experience within Health & Social Care.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Requirements

  • PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or other recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience delivering BTEC, T Level, Access to HE, or vocational Health & Social Care qualifications.
  • Previous experience teaching within Further Education.
