Our college client are currently looking for an experienced Head of MIS to join them at this exciting time in their journey.

This key leadership role will ensure the provision of accurate, timely and high-quality data services that support funding compliance, curriculum planning, learner achievement and informed decision-making across the College.

As Head of MIS, you will shape and deliver the College’s data strategy, overseeing learner information systems, reporting frameworks and data governance processes. Working collaboratively with curriculum, quality, IT and senior leadership teams, you will drive digital innovation, enhance system integration and promote data-led decision-making to improve organisational performance.

You will take overall responsibility for funding compliance and audit readiness, ensuring the College meets all regulatory requirements while maximising funding opportunities through effective analysis and reporting. Leading a dedicated MIS team, you will foster a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement, while supporting the development and optimisation of systems such as REMS, ProMonitor and ProAchieve.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the College’s digital transformation programme, driving best practice in data management, compliance and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the College’s MIS function and data services.
• Ensure the highest standards of data quality, funding compliance and audit preparedness.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives, driving innovation, automation and system improvements.
• Develop and enhance reporting and business intelligence solutions to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with the Exams team to ensure alignment between learner data and examination processes.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing MIS team.
• Deliver data-driven insights to support curriculum planning, funding strategy and organisational performance.

Person Specification

• Proven leadership experience within an MIS environment, ideally in the Further Education sector.
• Strong knowledge of ESFA funding methodologies, ILR returns and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
