Job Title: Housing Benefits Assessor
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Coventry with occasional travel

This client is looking for a Housing Benefits Assessor to join their supported housing team to lead on the systems development, administration, progression and management of claims and disputes.
In this Housing Benefits Assessors job, your responsibilities will include:
Review and process Housing Benefit (HB) payments, ensuring accurate posting to rent accounts
Analyse HB income to identify discrepancies, support recovery efforts, and minimise arrears.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., support workers, finance) to optimise revenue collection and HB reconciliation.
Engage with external stakeholders to resolve HB issues and maintain strong partnerships.
Contribute to the development of systems for tracking HB income and resident support plans.
Provide trauma-informed support to residents with complex HB concerns.
Assist in creating accurate rent and exempt accommodation models for senior leadership.
Maintain HB records in the housing system to support KPI and performance reporting.
Promote best practices and continuous improvement across HB processes.
Foster positive relationships to enhance service quality and achieve trusted partner status.
Uphold a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals toward independence.
