Young Person’s Mental Health Progression Coach Required!

Location: Brent (Supported Accommodation) Kilburn

Assignment length: Minimum of 12 weeks

Hours of work: mix of shifts: Mon – Fri 09:00-17:00 with occasional flexibility required

Caseload: 12-15 across a few properties local to the area of Kilburn

Clients are ex homeless young people with a real lack of opportunities in their life to date, this role is all about getting them prepared for adult life and being a mentor and supportive arm

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client’s dedicated team as a Progression Coach in Brent

Our renowned social care client is looking to bring a progression coach into the team, we need someone who can hit the ground running! The service itself provides supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25 who face complex needs, including mental health challenges. Our aim is to offer a safe and nurturing environment where residents can receive intensive support and guidance, enabling them to manage their behaviours, emotions, and overall well-being effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-to-one key working sessions with residents, focusing on mental health support and goal setting
  • Support residents with daily activities and carry out site operations, including health and safety checks, room checks and report writing
  • Assist residents in organizing their time, setting goals, and ensuring they attend appointments
  • Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to residents in their everyday tasks, such as laundry and self-care
  • Liaise closely with external agencies and establish strong partnership links to enhance the support provided

Requirements:

  • Essential: Previous key working experience
  • Genuine interest in working with young people with complex needs, particularly in the area of mental health
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young individuals, such as anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, and related issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with residents and build trust
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to provide holistic support
  • Flexible availability to work a mix of shifts, including one weekend on and one weekend off
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and safeguarding
