Are you a Temporary Accommodation Officer looking for work in South London?

Morgan Hunt’s Public Sector and Government client based in South London, is looking to recruit a Temporary Accommodation Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day allocation of temporary accommodation, supporting vulnerable households, and providing practical advice to help residents move on to more permanent housing solutions. Your expertise in managing temporary accommodation and delivering high-quality support services will be key in ensuring the smooth operation of our housing services.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day allocation of temporary accommodation, ensuring that properties are allocated efficiently and in line with housing policies and legal requirements.
  • Provide tailored support and advice to residents in temporary accommodation, helping them navigate housing options and assisting with their transition to more permanent solutions.
  • Manage a caseload of residents, ensuring that their needs are met and providing regular updates and guidance to help them improve their housing situations.
  • Work closely with external agencies, landlords, and internal departments to secure appropriate housing for residents and facilitate move-on opportunities.
  • Conduct assessments of residents’ housing needs and provide ongoing advice related to welfare benefits, budgeting, and tenancy management to help them sustain future accommodation.
  • Ensure all records and reports are accurately maintained, adhering to data protection and housing legislation.
  • Address any issues or concerns raised by residents, responding to their queries and providing timely solutions to support their wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the development of initiatives and strategies aimed at improving the management of temporary accommodation and reducing reliance on such provisions.
