Senior Regional Policy and Influencing Officer

📍 Location: London (Hybrid – up to 3 days remote)
💼 Salary: £35,000 – £41,500 per annum

The Opportunity

As Senior Regional Policy and Influencing Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the charity’s regional policy agenda. Working closely with healthcare systems such as Integrated Care Boards and Cancer Alliances, you’ll be responsible for leading strategic influencing work to improve breast cancer services in your region.

You’ll join a dynamic and collaborative policy, evidence and influencing team, and will work cross-functionally with experts in research, public health, service delivery, and communications to ensure the charity’s policy goals are driven forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of policy briefings, letters, and communications tailored to key regional stakeholders.
  • Conduct horizon scanning and data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in your NHS region.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with regional healthcare bodies and external partners.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure regional activity aligns with national strategy.
  • Represent the charity at external events and meetings, providing insight and gathering feedback from patients, clinicians, and partners.
  • Champion the use of lived experience and professional expertise in shaping policy recommendations.
  • Support media and public affairs activity in your region, working alongside PR and press colleagues when appropriate.

About You

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in a policy, public affairs or influencing role.
  • Skilled in analysing research and data to support evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex policy ideas.
  • Confident in stakeholder engagement, especially with senior healthcare leaders and policy-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent organisational and project management skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience developing media responses or acting as a spokesperson.
  • Understanding of or experience within the charity sector.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of UK health policy and how it is implemented.
  • Familiarity with NHS England and regional healthcare structures, including Integrated Care Boards.
