Move On Support Worker Needed!

Location: Ealing/Hammersmith

Pay: : £14.40 + holiday pay = £16.14 per hour or £18.00 per hour via Umbrella agency

Hours: Mon – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

Assignment Length: 3 months+

With a high population of rough sleepers in the borough of Ealing, our client has asked us to find them a committed applicant to work in Ealing as a Move on Support worker. This role will see you splitting your time across two sites and our social care client’s office.

If you are experienced with working with rough sleepers or have knowledge around resettlement/move on, then this role will seem too good to be true!

You will be helping clients move from their hostel into a more independent lifestyle but inadvertently you will also be freeing up spaces in the hostels for people who are currently sleeping rough!

A massive element of the role is to build good rapport and trust between you and your vulnerable homeless clients in a professional manner, whilst ensuring safe-guarding practices are maintained and all details of clients are recorded in a clear, concise manner on the database for others to view.

Duties:

  • Carrying out and updating needs and risks Assessments
  • Accompanying clients to appointments
  • Helping clients get ID if they do not have it already
  • Assisting with benefits applications
  • Ensuring all clients are receiving the benefits they are eligible for
  • Help clients set up bank accounts
  • Liaising with Outreach and Move on teams
  • Liaise with external agencies such as GP, Drug and alcohol charity and mental health teams

To be successful in this role:

  • Having sound knowledge on benefits, universal credit and right to work
  • Possess great client interaction skills
  • Working with other agencies
  • You must be able to work independently and use your initiative
  • Need someone who can be trusted to get on with the work
  • Need to be organised and be able to manage your own diary
  • Must be IT literate, able to type up documents efficiently
