Job Title: Lead Worker

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills and resilience to support them through complex challenges and empower them toward independence? We’re looking for a Lead Worker who will provide holistic, person-centred support to young people with multiple needs.
Key Responsibilities of a Lead Worker
- Deliver outreach-based, holistic risk and needs assessments in the community.
- Develop and implement tailored support and risk management plans using tools like the Outcome Star.
- Take a non-judgemental, person-centred approach, using diverse methods to promote engagement.
- Help young people sustain tenancies, access housing, and manage their lives more independently.
- Encourage participation in education, apprenticeships, training, and volunteering.
- Support young people to rebuild family and social networks, including mediation when necessary.
- Provide regular one-on-one support sessions, including crisis response and safeguarding.
- Promote participation in service development and ensure young people are active in their own support planning.
- Facilitate access to statutory and non-statutory services (e.g. health, mental health, substance misuse).
- Advocate for young people on matters like housing, benefits, and rights.
- Help maximise income through benefits, grants, budgeting, and life skills coaching (e.g. cooking, shopping).
- Act as a key link between young people and other services for a coordinated care approach.
Purpose of the Role
- Deliver flexible, person-centred support and settlement assistance to young people with complex needs.
- Enable young people to maintain stable accommodation and achieve improved health and well being outcomes.
- Provide guidance to navigate services including health care, substance misuse recovery, education, and employment.
Requirements for a Lead Worker
- Experience working with vulnerable young people or similar client groups.
- Worked as a Lead Worker or in a similar position before
- A car driver is not essential but highly desired, will be outreach in the community of Coventry
- Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and youth development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or crisis response when needed.
