Are you passionate about supporting survivors of sexual violence and committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed advocacy?

A vital front line service in East London is seeking a dedicated Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) to join their team. This role involves providing proactive, person-centred support to women and girls who have experienced sexual violence, whether or not they choose to engage with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist advocacy and support, including risk assessments, safety planning, and emotional support.
  • Guide survivors through the criminal justice process, from initial reporting to post-trial support.
  • Liaise with police, legal services, and partner organisations to ensure coordinated, survivor-focused responses.
  • Provide information and emotional support via a helpline on a rota basis (including some evening and weekend shifts).
  • Maintain accurate casework and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and service development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with women and/or girls who have experienced sexual violence or other forms of gender-based violence.
  • Strong understanding of the criminal justice process as it relates to sexual violence.
  • A trauma-informed, feminist, and anti-racist approach to advocacy and support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential – support and training will be provided for the right candidate.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women and girls, working within a supportive, passionate team. You’ll play a key role in improving safety, access to justice, and long-term outcomes for survivors of sexual violence.
