We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Facilities Management to join us here at Bradford College.
The Head of Facilities Management is accountable for the overall management of the estates and facilities functions across the Bradford College estate.  This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance of the estates plan, asset management, estates management, hard and soft facilities management, performance reporting for all services, and relationship management with all stakeholders.  The College has significant outsourced provision that requires effective contract management.
The postholder is responsible for setting and achieving targets for estates and facilities management working in close cooperation with the Head of Health and Safety to ensure a safe and compliant estate.
Responsibilities include:
  • Leads on the maintenance and development of estates and facilities
  • Leads on sustainable development of Bradford College with a particular focus on reducing energy consumption
  • Responsible for asset management
  • Ensures the full compliance of all facilities and estates management and ensures all statutory and regulatory obligations are met
  • Owns the capital plan for this functional area and ensures the delivery of specific capital projects on an annual basis
  • Supports the development of capital funding bids and ensures that appropriate management and assurances process are deployed to deliver major programmes of work
  • Develops and implements appropriate policies and procedures to manage the estates and facilities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Identifies and procures outsourced suppliers to deliver essential services to Bradford College
  • Identifies and implements financial and service efficiencies through the effective management of the Bradford College facilities and estates
  • Maximises income from the estate and identifies opportunities for future commercial revenue
  • Defines and delivers the departmental budget
  • Responsible for contract management and compliance as the College’s informed client.

Education & Training
  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification
Experience
  • Experience of facilities and estates management at a senior level (inc. management of organizational wide maintenance)
  • Experience of supporting and leading capital programmes
  • Experience of effective service contract management
  • Experience of assessing capital projects feasibility and developing project business cases
  • Experience of health and safety management
