Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker

Are you passionate about supporting survivors of domestic abuse? Do you want to make a meaningful difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to join our team and provide vital support to individuals experiencing domestic abuse across Multiple locations in Surrey.

Location: Surrey

Hours: Flexible, 2 – 5 days a week (14 – 35 hours)

Salary: £25,000 – £32,000 FTE, dependent on experience

Contract: 12 Month FTC

Application restricted to women under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010

About the Role

You will provide direct, trauma-informed outreach and advocacy to individuals impacted by domestic abuse. Working one-on-one with clients, you’ll offer emotional and practical support, safety planning, risk assessment, and help in accessing services such as legal advice, housing, benefits, and health care.

This role also involves liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies, attending multi-agency risk assessment conferences (MARAC), facilitating group support sessions, and helping clients rebuild confidence and reduce isolation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide client-led emotional and practical support
  • Carry out risk assessments and develop safety plans
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with external agencies
  • Accompany clients to appointments or court when needed
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to monitoring reports
  • Work collaboratively with other outreach workers and stakeholders
  • Promote awareness of domestic abuse within the community

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise effectively
  • Competency using IT systems and writing reports
  • Full driving licence and access to a car
  • Qualified IDVA or willingness to train
