Director of Quality and Innovation
Location: Ewell, Surrey
Salary: £63,000 – £73,000 per annum (dependent on skills, experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Morgan Hunt are delighted to be working in partnership with Nescot to recruit a strategic and visionary Director of Quality and Innovation.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead the quality agenda across a diverse and ambitious college environment, spanning Further and Higher Education, Adult Skills and Apprenticeships.
As part of the College Leadership Team, you’ll play a critical role in delivering an exceptional learner experience, embedding excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, and driving continuous improvement through innovation and collaboration.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of quality professionals and work in close partnership with academic and corporate services to ensure regulatory compliance, support curriculum development, and promote a culture of high performance and learner engagement.
Key Responsibilities of the Director of Quality and Innovation:
* Provide senior leadership for quality assurance, enhancement, and academic standards across all provision types
* Develop and implement the College’s Quality Framework and Performance Improvement Cycle in line with institutional strategy
* Oversee quality assurance systems and ensure compliance with Ofsted, OfS and other external regulatory requirements
* Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning and assessment, identifying areas for improvement and driving measurable impact
* Champion student voice and digital engagement in quality processes
* Produce high-quality reporting for senior leadership and the Board, including SARs, QIPs, and HE monitoring
* Lead the design and delivery of staff development and CPD relating to pedagogy, digital learning, and academic standards
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including awarding bodies, HE partners and inspection agencies
* Foster a forward-thinking, inclusive and high-performing culture throughout the organisation
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
* Substantial experience leading quality improvement within an FE and/or HE environment
* Deep knowledge of Ofsted and OfS frameworks, self-assessment, and external regulation
* Proven track record of delivering impactful quality strategies and leading change
* Strong line management and team development skills, ideally across multidisciplinary teams
* Strategic thinking with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into performance insight
* Degree-level education and a teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS or equivalent)
* Experience with TEF, HE quality assurance, and validation processes (desirable)
* A collaborative leadership style with a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student success
