Azure Application Support Engineer

£35K – £45K plus the following where applicable: LWA or Home working allowance up to £500 per annum

A leading charity is looking for an experienced Azure Application Support Engineer to join their technology team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing our Azure environments, ensuring maximum system uptime and enabling our organisation to provide seamless support to young people around the clock. You will be responsible for proactively identifying and addressing flaws in our methodologies, leveraging automation to streamline processes, and future-proofing our systems.

In this hands-on role, you will:

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications, managing incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.
  • Maintain and optimize Azure environments, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Identify and address potential issues or bottlenecks in our systems and processes
  • Contribute to the development of new solutions and strategies for future growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet business requirements.
  • Administer our cloud and on-prem environments, leveraging automation and monitoring.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Experience with PowerShell and Python
  • Automation
  • SQL – SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Server admin
  • Proven experience in maintaining Azure environments
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft technologies and tooling
  • Passion for automation and a mindset for continuously seeking improvements
  • Ability to weigh benefits against costs and propose practical solutions
