Assessment & Resettlement Worker

(Supported Housing / Rough Sleeping)

Assignment: 3 months – with Permanent opportunity

Pay: £20.00 per hour via an umbrella company or £17.37(PAYE) per hour inclusive of holiday pay

Shifts:

  • Early: 08:00-16:00/16:30
  • Late: 14:30-22:30
  • Rotating rota including one weekend every seven weeks

Location: Central London

An enhanced child and adult DBS certificate is required – either on the update service or issued within the last 12 months

An established supported accommodation service in Central London is seeking an experienced Assessment & Resettlement (A&R) Worker to join their dedicated team. The service provides short-term accommodation (28-day accommodation) for individuals who are rough sleeping, with the aim of stabilising, assessing, and reconnecting them with appropriate long-term support or housing options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments upon referral, ensuring all procedures are followed meticulously.
  • Support residents through the 28-day assessment process, creating tailored support plans.
  • Work closely with local authorities to facilitate re-connections, housing applications, and navigate the Homelessness Reduction Act.
  • Carry out regular health & safety checks, welfare checks, and lone working (for low-need clients).
  • Engage in weekly team meetings and maintain accurate, professional documentation.

About the Service:

  • 37-bed supported accommodation project
  • Client group includes individuals with a wide range of support needs (from no support needs to high needs)
  • Emphasis on safety – robust risk protocols and low incident rate
  • Located in Victoria, London

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in supported housing, assessment centres, or similar front-line services
  • Solid understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act and local authority processes
  • Confident navigating housing duties and working alongside councils
  • Strong risk assessment and lone working protocols knowledge
