Young Persons Support Worker – Finsbury Park

Support Worker – Young People’s Accommodation (Temporary Cover)

Location: Finsbury Park

£16.64 per hour (including holiday pay)

Full-time, 2-3 months with potential for extension

37.5 hours per week across a rota of early (8AM-3:30PM) and late (3PM-10:30PM) shifts, including weekends

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join a well-established supported accommodation service providing tailored support to young people aged 16-21.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in key working, risk assessment, and trauma-informed care to take on a rewarding and hands-on role within a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of up to 4 young people, holding regular key working sessions to co-produce support and safety plans that are SMART and outcome-focused
  • Produce high-quality risk assessments and management plans
  • Assess new referrals in collaboration with the team to determine suitability
  • Ensure accommodation is safe, welcoming, and maintained to high standards
  • Identify suitable move-on options and support young people through their transition
  • Respond to and report safeguarding concerns, working closely with external partners
  • Support residents with benefit entitlements, rent collection, and financial literacy
  • Promote engagement in education, training, and employment opportunities
  • Organise and run life skills sessions and independence-building activities
  • Maintain health & safety procedures and lone working protocols

About You:

  • Experience working with young people in supported accommodation or similar settings
  • Knowledge of Ofsted principles for young people in supported housing
  • Understanding of working with young people with complex needs, including mental health challenges, emerging personality disorders, and self-harm
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and attachment-based practices
  • Confident in key working, support planning, and caseload management
  • Strong awareness of safeguarding and risk minimisation
  • Working knowledge of welfare benefits, service charges, and housing pathways
  • Excellent written and numerical skills for documentation and reporting
