We are delighted to be supporting a well-regarded Further Education college in the recruitment of a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join their dynamic Curriculum team.

✨ About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across GCSE and Functional Skills English, supporting students with a range of abilities.

You will play a key role in shaping the English curriculum, tracking student progress, and working closely with curriculum teams to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching in GCSE and Functional Skills English

Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively

Motivate and support learners to achieve their full potential

Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement

Participate in student recruitment activities such as events and open days

Support safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive student behaviour

Contribute to quality assurance and internal verification processes

Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all activities

👤 About You

We’re looking for an individual who is experienced in teaching and assessing English, ideally at GCSE level, and who brings energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. You will be an engaging communicator, highly organised, and passionate about helping students succeed. You’ll also be a collaborative team player with a flexible and proactive approach.

✅ Essential Requirements

Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject

GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent

Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one

Experience delivering English teaching

Commitment to CPD and continuous improvement

Degree-level qualification

Experience in Further Education
