If you have experience with personal care, medication administration, PEG feeding, and manual handling, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to learners with SEND.
  • Assist with personal care routines, including dressing, toileting, changing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Support learners with mobility needs using wheelchairs, hoists, slings, standing aids, and other specialist equipment.
  • Administer medication in line with individual healthcare plans and organisational procedures.
  • Carry out PEG feeding safely and confidently following agreed protocols.
  • Support learners with complex medical and physical needs throughout the college day.
  • Promote independence, confidence, dignity, and inclusion in all aspects of learner support.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to learner care, support, and medication administration.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and risk management procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with SEND.
  • Proven experience delivering personal care within an educational, care, or support setting.
  • Practical experience administering medication.
  • Knowledge and experience of PEG feeding.
  • Experience using moving and handling equipment and carrying out manual handling procedures safely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting learners to reach their full potential.

Qualifications and Training

The following are desirable:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health & Social Care, or a related subject.
  • Current training in Moving & Handling, Medication Administration, PEG Feeding, First Aid, and Safeguarding.

Why Apply?

  • Join a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Make a real and lasting impact on learners’ lives.
  • Access ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Benefit from wellbeing support initiatives.
  • Explore opportunities for career progression within the sector.
