Uxbridge College has excellent facilities for the delivery of Engineering, and this is an exciting time to join our highly successful team.
We are seeking a Senior Technician to support students and staff our Mechanical Engineering section. You would supervise a team of Technicians in Mechanical Engineering, take the lead on Health and Safety issues, consumables, stock and maintain an inventory. You would prepare and maintain equipment for use by lecturing staff and students, demonstrate the use of equipment and support the teaching teams in their delivery of the curriculum. You would also supervise students in the workshop ensuring that they comply with health and safety requirements and good workshop practice.
You will need to possess a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering with experience of working as a Technician in Mechanical Engineering, bringing skills in bench fitting, drilling, turning and milling as well as a good understanding of health and safety requirements. You will also possess good communication skills to engage with young people aged 16 – 19 and have the ability to effectively supervise a team of Technicians.
