Morgan Hunt are currently working with a national charity in their search for a Senior Special Events Manager to join their Income Generation and Engagement function on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of high-profile, large-scale fundraising events that generate significant income and build strong supporter engagement.

In this role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of major fundraising events and special projects, managing end-to-end delivery including logistics, sponsorship, supplier management and stakeholder relationships. You will play a key role in delivering the organisation’s fundraising strategy and budget, working collaboratively across teams to maximise income and ensure events are delivered to an exceptional standard.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with senior volunteers, sponsors and supporters, providing excellent stewardship and ensuring a high-quality supporter experience. Alongside delivery, you will contribute innovative ideas to keep events competitive within the sector, support process improvement across the Special Events team, and act as a subject matter expert for event fundraising both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will be an experienced event fundraising professional with a strong track record of delivering and growing large-scale events. You will be confident managing complex projects, negotiating with suppliers, overseeing budgets and meeting ambitious income targets. A collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, you will enjoy working cross-functionally and developing others while maintaining a clear focus on results.

Salary: £34,582 – £38,425

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of large-scale fundraising events and special projects.
  • Manage event logistics, sponsorship, suppliers and stakeholder relationships end-to-end.
  • Contribute to delivery of the annual business plan, fundraising strategy and budget.
  • Build and steward relationships with senior volunteers, supporters and partners.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, improve processes and grow event income.
  • Develop engaging materials for events and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and manage external suppliers to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Work collaboratively across fundraising and wider organisational teams to maximise income.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on special events fundraising.
  • Represent organisational values in all activity.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience delivering and growing large-scale fundraising or commercial events.
  • Strong project and event management skills with the ability to manage complex timelines.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating contracts and meeting income targets.
  • Creative and innovative approach to event development.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Experience developing others and working collaboratively within teams.
  • Background in fundraising, sales, marketing or a customer-focused environment.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and standard IT systems.
