An award-winning and forward-thinking building services consultancy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join its growing Edinburgh team, located in their modern city centre office. The business is passionate about creating more energy-efficient, sustainable and cost-effective buildings, with a strong track record of delivering innovative, low-carbon mechanical and electrical solutions across some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile projects across sectors such as Commercial, Healthcare, Defence, Education and more. With specialists across electrical, mechanical, public health and other building services disciplines, there are plenty of opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and develop your expertise. The Role

• Lead mechanical building services design across a range of projects.
• Develop HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic water systems.
• Take designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Attend client and design team meetings and provide technical input.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.
• Contribute to sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions.

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in mechanical building services design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of UK standards, regulations and industry guidance.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
