Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Professional Regulatory Body in their search for a permanent Regulatory Officer (Supervision) to join their established Supervision team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Regulatory, Compliance, Risk or Audit professional to take on a varied and highly visible role, working directly with a portfolio of regulated individuals and organisations.
The role combines proactive regulatory supervision with reactive casework, meaning you’ll assess incoming reports and concerns while also actively monitoring regulatory compliance and identifying potential risks before they materialise. You’ll be responsible for analysing information, assessing risk and determining appropriate regulatory responses within an established risk-based framework.
A key part of the position will be front-line engagement with regulated professionals and organisations. You’ll build relationships with barristers, chambers and vocational training providers, communicating confidently with senior and legally qualified stakeholders and ensuring regulatory expectations are understood and met.
You will undertake a range of supervisory activity, including desk-based reviews, compliance testing, thematic reviews, reviewing reports and intelligence, and conducting supervision visits. Higher-risk or more complex matters may require in-person visits, while lower-risk activity can be managed remotely or virtually. The role will require you to assess the information available, draw clear conclusions and determine appropriate actions to mitigate regulatory risk.
The successful candidate will be confident drafting regulatory actions, reports and recommendations, monitoring progress against agreed actions and ensuring regulated entities demonstrate appropriate compliance. You’ll need strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside the credibility and confidence to challenge and influence regulated professionals where necessary.
You’ll join a stable and supportive Supervision team with a strong collaborative culture, working regularly with colleagues across Enforcement, Authorisations and Policy. The role offers excellent exposure to the wider regulatory lifecycle and the opportunity to contribute to regulatory projects and initiatives.
