£19 – £22 per hour ( Umbrella )

Are you passionate about supporting individuals to make lasting change? We’re currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Practitioner / Recovery Worker to join a well-established service in Liverpool on a 3-month temporary contract, with strong potential to become permanent.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality interventions to individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse.

The Role

As a Substance Misuse Practitioner, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and risk assessments
  • Deliver structured key working sessions and recovery planning
  • Provide harm reduction advice and support
  • Facilitate referrals to partner agencies (housing, mental health, criminal justice, etc.)
  • Contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes
  • Support individuals through their recovery journey in a person-centred, trauma-informed way

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working within substance misuse services
  • Strong knowledge of harm reduction and recovery models
  • Experience managing a varied caseload
  • Confident in completing assessments and support plans
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent) are desirable but not essential with the right experience.
