Morgan Hunt is proud to be partnering with a specialist charity to recruit a Specialist Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) for their innovative Gateway service, supporting autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities who have experienced sexual violence.
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected organisation dedicated to reducing the impact of trauma through specialist, psychotherapeutically informed services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in empowering survivors, ensuring they have access to the information, advocacy and practical support they need throughout their recovery journey.
As a Specialist ISVA, you will manage a caseload of autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities who have experienced any form of sexual abuse. You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred advocacy and emotional support, helping survivors make informed choices whether or not they choose to engage with the criminal justice system.
Working across London in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector agencies, you will ensure survivors can access the services and support they need while promoting their rights and helping them navigate complex systems.
Manage a caseload of survivors, providing tailored advocacy, emotional and practical support.
Develop individual support plans and risk assessments.
Support clients to access health, housing, therapeutic, legal, safeguarding and specialist support services.
Provide impartial information about reporting options and criminal justice processes.
Support survivors throughout police investigations, court proceedings and post-trial where appropriate.
Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) where requested.
Advocate for survivors’ rights under the Victims’ Code and Witness Charter.
Maintain accurate, confidential case records and contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with police, health services, social care and specialist organisations.
Deliver awareness-raising sessions and contribute to the development of best practice across the sector.
We are looking for candidates who have:
Experience supporting adults affected by sexual violence, abuse, trauma or other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Experience working with autistic adults, adults with learning disabilities, or individuals with complex needs.
A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding.
Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
The ability to manage a varied caseload while maintaining high-quality records.
Knowledge of the criminal justice process and the role of an ISVA (desirable).
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
An accredited ISVA qualification is desirable, although applications from candidates with relevant advocacy or safeguarding experience who are willing to undertake training are encouraged.
