To manage the procurement of goods and services for the College, ensuring value for money, compliance with procurement regulations, and timely delivery to support the college’s operational needs
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Procurement Management
· Achieve Value for Money: Ensure that all procurement activities deliver the best possible value for money by considering the total cost of ownership, including price, quality and sustainability.
· Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the college’s needs.
· Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
· Prepare and issue tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
· Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier relationships.
Operational Support
· Collaborate with departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.
· Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet operational requirements.
· Resolve any issues related to procurement, delivery, or supplier performance.
Compliance and Reporting
· Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and decisions.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in procurement processes.
· Prepare and submit reports on procurement activities and performance.
Performance Management
· This job description provides only an outline of key accountabilities and responsibilities of the Procurement Coordinator and will be subject to review and change as required.
· The Procurement Coordinator appraisal takes place in accordance with the College’s Appraisal Scheme.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
· To work within and personally contribute to the achievement of the college’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
· Comply with college policies and procedures and health and safety regulations.
· Support and promote the safeguarding of students.
· Maintain confidentiality in relation to College information and comply with Data Protection Legislation.
· Participate in the College’s Appraisal scheme and undertake any professional development and skills updating as required.
· Support and participate in the implementation of the College’s Equality policies.
