About the role

This is your opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s largest and most dynamic further education providers. At New City College, we have set a bold five-year vision and ambitious strategic priorities, and we are seeking an exceptional Principal who is ready to lead from the front, drive operational excellence, and make a lasting impact on our campuses, our communities and the lives of thousands of learners.

You will have responsibilities for the leadership of two college campuses in the London borough of Havering with a combined student population of more than 5,000. You will work within a broader group structure, leading on identified curriculum delivery and quality across the whole of NCC, within the group’s matrix structure. You will join a senior management team including three other principals; shaping the next phase of NCC’s development as one of the UK’s leading further education colleges.

We are proud to have been judged Outstanding by Ofsted, a testament to the exceptional quality of our teaching, leadership and student outcomes, and a powerful platform for our next Principal to build on excellence and shape the future.

About you

· Substantial and successful senior leadership experience in curriculum and/or quality management within a high-performing FE environment.

· A proven track record of improving teaching, learning and student outcomes through effective leadership of curriculum managers and teams.

· Demonstrable success in developing and delivering strategic and operational plans that drive sustained quality improvement.

· Strong financial and resource management experience, aligning budgets to strategic priorities and performance targets.

· A deep understanding of FE policy, funding methodologies and accountability frameworks, using data and KPIs to secure measurable impact.

· The ability to design and implement a responsive, high-quality curriculum that meets learner, employer and funding requirements.

· A strong commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and safeguarding, with the credibility to embed best practice across the College.

· Exceptional leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams and effective external partnerships.

At New City College, we are proud of our diverse student body and workforce. We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from leaders of all backgrounds who share our passion for transforming lives through education.

This is more than a Principal role. It is an opportunity to shape curriculum strategy, influence regional skills development, and ensure every learner – regardless of background – can succeed.
