This organisation is seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to support the organisation’s President in their influencing and stakeholder engagement work. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, ensuring the President is fully briefed, and maximising the impact of their activities.

Working to the organisations strategic priorities, you will also contribute to wider influencing and policy development efforts by undertaking research, policy analysis and stakeholder engagement, under the guidance of the Head of Policy and Campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Coordination & Monitoring

  • Proactively monitor the President’s activities, organisations initiatives, and external policy developments.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication between the President and Strategic Communications.
  • Support alignment of policy priorities and key messages across Officers and Communications colleagues.
  • Identify opportunities to influence stakeholders and strengthen strategic relationships.

2. Briefing & Event Preparation

  • Ensure the President is thoroughly prepared for meetings, events and presentations.
  • Liaise across Departments, Faculties, Committees, Divisions, Devolved Nations, and external stakeholders to gather accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Draft high-quality briefings, speeches, presentations, and other materials, including undertaking research where required

3. Diary & Workflow Coordination

  • Work with the President’s Personal Assistant to ensure briefing and material requirements are identified and scheduled in advance.
  • Clarify meeting objectives and expected outcomes.

4. Correspondence Management

  • Collaborate with the President’s PA, Senior Management Team, Officers and Managers to draft responses to emails and letters requiring policy or communications input.

5. Policy Research & Analysis

  • Conduct policy research and analysis, as directed by the Head of Policy and Campaigns, to support the delivery of policy projects and influencing priorities.
  • Monitor progress against agreed objectives

6. Information & Advice Provision

  • Provide accurate and timely information to inform briefings and external communications.
  • Offer advice to Officers, Leads and members where appropriate.

7. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including members, mental health partners and arm’s length bodies.
  • Support engagement activity linked to policy and influencing work.

8. Representation

  • Attend and represent the organisation at external meetings and events, as agreed with the Head of Policy and Campaigns.
  • Act as a role model for the organisation’s values and behaviours.
  • Champion collaborative ways of working.
  • Contribute to a positive, empowering and inclusive working environment for all staff.
