Plumbing Lecturer

Location: Birmingham

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary Ongoing

Rate: Competitive Hourly/Day Rate (DOE)

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Plumbing Lecturer to join a well-established Further Education college in Birmingham on a full-time, ongoing temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified plumbing professional who is passionate about sharing their industry knowledge and helping learners develop the skills needed for successful careers in the construction and building services sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Plumbing lessons to Further Education learners.
• Teach both practical workshop sessions and underpinning theoretical knowledge.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within workshop environments.
• Contribute to student retention, achievement, and overall learner success.
• Participate in departmental meetings and quality assurance activities as required.

Requirements

• Relevant Plumbing qualification (Level 3 or above).
• Industry experience within plumbing and domestic/commercial installations.
• Previous teaching, training, or assessing experience is desirable.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) is advantageous, although candidates working towards a teaching qualification may also be considered.
• Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications would be beneficial.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
