We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Life Skills Lecturer (SEND) to join a supportive Further Education college in the London area this September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with learners with additional needs, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and essential skills for life beyond education. You’ll play a key role in helping learners achieve personal goals, build resilience and prepare for their next steps.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering practical, engaging life skills lessons tailored to individual learner needs
  • Supporting learners to develop independence, confidence and self advocacy skills
  • Teaching skills linked to communication, personal development, community access and everyday living
  • Supporting learners with preparation for adulthood and future progression
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
  • Working towards EHCP outcomes and individual learner targets
  • Monitoring progress and celebrating learner achievements
  • Collaborating with Learning Support Assistants, support teams and external professionals
  • Encouraging learners to develop skills for employment, independence and community participation

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience teaching learners with SEND, learning difficulties and disabilities
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent
  • Experience delivering life skills, personal development or preparation for adulthood programmes
  • A creative and learner focused approach to teaching
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for supporting learners to become more independent and confident
  • Experience within Further Education or specialist SEND settings is highly desirable

Why Apply?

  • September start
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Supportive and inclusive college environment
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day
  • Work with inspiring learners and a passionate SEND team
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities
  • A rewarding role where you can see the impact of your work

If you’re passionate about empowering learners with SEND and helping them develop the skills, confidence and independence to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
