Lecturer in Built Environment

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Start Date: August

We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Built Environment Lecturer to join a successful Further Education College in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional or established lecturer to support learners pursuing careers within construction, surveying, planning, project management, and the wider built environment sector.

About the Role

  • Deliver engaging theory and practical lessons across Built Environment programmes, including Levels 1-3 and Higher Technical qualifications where appropriate.
  • Teach topics such as construction technology, sustainable construction, building design, surveying, project management, and the built environment industry.
  • Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their academic and career goals.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and maintain a positive, inclusive, and industry-focused learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Level 3 qualification or above in a Built Environment discipline such as Construction Management, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry experience within the built environment or construction sector.
  • A recognised teaching qualification is desirable, although support may be available for industry professionals looking to move into education.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding learner outcomes.
