The main purpose of the role is to: 1. Act as a Course Leader and Academic Tutor. 2. Create and implement innovative teaching, learning and assessment. Effective learning support material, methods and applications. 3. Undertake induction including initial assessment and set smart targets for attendance and punctuality ensuring student attendance, retention and progress on courses. Meeting targets and taking responsibility for the achievement and success data of the course. 4. Actively contribute to the school community, identifying opportunities for employment and skills focused study for learners. 5. Deliver teaching and assessment activities within own area of specialism including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical’s, and field work to undergraduates and postgraduates 6. Have experience of teaching or a working knowledge of Green Skills technologies (Solar/PV, EV Chargers, Air Source Heat Pumps and Retrofit). 7. Have experience of delivering Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391/51 and 2391/52 and the 18th Edition BS7671: 2018. 8. Select appropriate assessment instruments and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students 9. Seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback 10. Arrange, Coordinate and Supervise practical work, events and assessment projects and advise students on techniques 11. Be responsible for the record keeping associated with teaching and the preparation of teaching materials. 12. Undertake as required the necessary administrative duties, for example the examinations process, and all other aspects of Quality Assurance including assessment of student work, undertaking progress reviews and maintaining student records, Internal Verification and Monitoring Reviews and Assessment Boards. 13. Liaise with parents / carers and work experience providers as required including attending parents’ meetings. 14. Participate in the student recruitment and admissions process, open evenings, and competitions with an interest to develop wider collaborative dept./college opportunities 15. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course Develop and maintain and co-ordinate effective industrial links 16. Organise and participate in relevant industrial visits and with screenings, exhibitions and end of year shows 17. Attend, contribute to and co-ordinate where necessary relevant college events, including guidance, enrolment, open events, Parents’ Evenings and Awards Evening as appropriate 18. Participate, as a team member, in the development of teaching methods and strategies towards an ethos of continuing improvement 19. Carry out Quality Assurance and Self Assessment procedures in line with the College’s Quality Policy 20. Contribute to the Faculty Development Plans Participate in the College’s Lesson Observation Scheme
