Learning Support Assistant – Further Education College

Are you passionate about breaking down learning barriers and helping young people thrive? We are matching brilliant educators with a fantastic further education college in Merseyside.
Your main goal is to make learning accessible, fun, and inclusive. You will help bridge the gap between students and teachers by:
  • Providing in-class, 1:1, or small-group academic support to keep students engaged and confident.
  • Adapting lesson materials and tailoring your learning support style to match how each individual student learns best.
  • Assisting with note-taking, reading, and breaking down complex lesson content.
  • Encouraging student independence, social development, and confidence inside the classroom.
  • Working collaboratively with tutors and wider support staff to create a brilliant, accessible learning environment.
The Students You Will Support
The learners at this college are wonderful and diverse. You will be supporting individuals with:
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Hearing impairments, Deaf learners, and those with physical disabilities
  • General additional learning difficulties
What We Are Looking For
If you are a warm, adaptable professional with the following skills, we want to hear from you:
  • Previous experience as an LSA, SEN Teaching Assistant, or supporting learners in a school or college setting.
  • A deep understanding of inclusive learning strategies and classroom management.
  • A patient, encouraging, and positive approach to student support.
  • Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning (desirable, but hands-on experience is key).
