Learning Facilitator – Further Education College

Location: Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Agency Placement)
Pay Rate: £13.00 – £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Further Education College in Manchester for dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Facilitators to join their supportive team from September 2026.

This is an exciting full-time, long-term opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact by supporting young people and adults with additional learning needs to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a Learning Facilitator, you will work alongside teaching staff to provide tailored support to students across a range of vocational and academic courses. You will play a key role in helping learners build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.

You will support students with a variety of additional needs, including:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

  • Physical disabilities and sensory impairments

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support within the classroom and across the college

  • Assisting tutors with lesson delivery and adapting learning resources where required

  • Delivering personalised learning support tailored to individual student needs

  • Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence

  • Supporting positive behaviour using proactive and inclusive strategies

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals

  • Promoting students’ health, wellbeing, and personal development

  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to student progress reviews where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs in an education, care, or support setting

  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults

  • A relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential
