IT Operations Associate – Regulatory Body

Location: London (Hybrid working)
Contract: 12-15 Month FTC
Salary: £40,000 – £45,500 + excellent benefits
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Reports to: Senior IT Operations & Service Manager

Our client, a respected UK health professions regulator, plays a key role in assuring and improving standards of care for people using pharmacy services across Great Britain. Known for its commitment to professional standards, employee development and an inclusive working culture, the organisation also offers a hybrid working approach, with staff attending the office 12 days per quarter (rising to 18 days per quarter from July 2026).

The Opportunity
We are recruiting an IT Operations Associate to join the organisation’s IT Operations function. This role is ideal for someone with experience in IT operations or a support environment who enjoys working collaboratively across teams and supporting the effective use of technology.
Working closely with the Senior IT Operations & Service Manager, Infrastructure Team and Applications Team, you will play an important role in coordinating operational IT activity and supporting delivery of the organisation’s IT roadmap. A key focus of the role is driving the development, rollout and adoption of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools across the organisation.
This role also provides excellent exposure to supplier management, IT finance administration and performance reporting-making it a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to broaden their operational IT experience within a regulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
In this varied and hands-on role, you will:

  • Support the ongoing development and rollout of Microsoft 365 products to meet user and business needs.
  • Develop user communications, guidance and training materials to support adoption of new and existing IT tools.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development colleagues to identify skills gaps and deliver targeted training support.
  • Coordinate supplier-related activities including licence management, product renewals and milestone tracking.
  • Process purchase orders and supplier invoices within required deadlines, and assist with budget reporting and forecasting.
  • Produce IT service performance metrics and management information for regular reporting cycles.
  • Maintain departmental documentation, records and registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Chair meetings where required, preparing agendas, papers and follow-up actions.
  • Act as an ambassador for the IT function, championing best practice and adherence to IT policies.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential:

  • Experience working in IT operations or another IT support environment.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 products and their practical use in an organisational setting.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including supporting user training.
  • Experience liaising with suppliers and managing operational processes.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to keep accurate records and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply policies relating to risk, information security, data protection and business continuity.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable:

  • Experience within the public sector or a regulatory organisation.
  • Understanding of budget management processes.
