Interim HR Advisor, 4 months, Warwickshire (Hybrid), £25.39 per hour (umbrella)

Our client, a local council, is seeking an experienced Interim HR Advisor to join their team and provide professional, pragmatic HR advice and guidance across the organisation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the HR Managers to support managers and employees on a broad range of HR matters, ensuring advice is delivered in line with employment legislation, council policies and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, practical HR and ER advice to managers and employees.
  • Advise and support managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence matters.
  • Support managers through formal stages of the organisation’s HR procedures.
  • Provide advice on employment policies, procedures, terms and conditions and employment legislation.
  • Provide HR advice and support on restructuring, redundancy and organisational change.
  • Assist with the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of key HR projects and initiatives under the Staff Strategy.
  • Provide sickness absence data and analysis to support effective workforce management.
  • Work collaboratively with HR Administration and Payroll colleagues.
  • Contribute to organisational development, learning and staff engagement initiatives.

About you

You will have:

  • Proven experience working as an HR Advisor, ideally with a strong Employee Relations focus.
  • Good knowledge and practical understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience advising managers on complex and sensitive ER matters.
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to provide clear, balanced and pragmatic HR advice.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload and competing priorities.
  • A professional, approachable and solutions-focused attitude.
  • The ability to work collaboratively while using initiative and sound judgement.
  • Experience within local government or the public sector would be desirable.
