Job Title: Industry Placement Advisor

Location: Slough

About the Role / Job Summary:

We are seeking an Industry Placement Advisor to support young people in developing their employability skills and completing meaningful industry placements that meet the requirements of their college and course awarding bodies. This role involves building and maintaining long-term relationships with local businesses and key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high-quality placements and employability programs for all students across the college.
  • Collaborate with curriculum and support areas to create a robust industry placement and careers calendar.
  • Oversee compliance with health and safety and safeguarding guidelines in the workplace.
  • Stay updated with government initiatives and policies related to careers and industry placements.
  • Conduct employer visits to assess suitability and value for students.
  • Manage relationships with external organizations, addressing queries or issues.
  • Ensure appropriate Criminal Records checks are conducted prior to placements.
  • Work with students to successfully source and complete industry-relevant placements.
  • Prioritize student welfare, safety, and wellbeing.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in career guidance or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff.

Education Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or qualification in education, guidance, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role within the education sector.
  • Familiarity with industry placement processes and compliance.
  • Proven ability to engage and motivate students.
