We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused individual to deliver effective housing management services, with a key emphasis on rent arrears management and tenancy sustainment. The role is a temporary role which will start as soon as possible and run until mid August.
You will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts, taking timely action to reduce arrears, and maximising rental income in line with policy and legal requirements. This includes negotiating repayment arrangements, liaising with Housing Benefit teams, DWP, and partner agencies, and supporting customers to maximise their income and access appropriate welfare benefits.
A key part of the role is working with tenants to sustain tenancies by identifying vulnerabilities, addressing underlying issues, and preventing homelessness wherever possible. You will provide advice, signposting, and coordinated support, working closely with internal teams and external agencies.
The role also involves progressing cases through pre-legal and legal stages where necessary, ensuring accurate record keeping, GDPR compliance, and robust case management throughout.
You should be confident working in a target-driven environment, have strong communication and organisational skills, and be able to balance enforcement with a supportive, solution-focused approach.
