At Solihull College, we are on a mission to become the best place to work in education. We are building a culture of inclusivity, self-actualisation, and achievement, where every colleague feels empowered and supported to thrive. As part of this journey, we are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking HR Manager to join our team and help shape the future of our people strategy.

This is a pivotal role within the College, responsible for leading a high-quality HR service. You will lead initiatives that enhance staff wellbeing and reduce sickness absence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and engagement.

You will also explore and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance HR operations, ensuring our function remains agile, innovative, and future-ready, whilst ensuring fairness, inclusivity and non-bias.

Key Responsibilities within the role will include:

  • Acting as a strategic HR business partner to senior leaders and managers.
  • Leading the development and delivery of a proactive wellbeing strategy.
  • Working with managers to analyse and reduce sickness absence levels.
  • Supporting the development of an inclusive and high-performance culture.
  • Providing expert advice on complex employee relations issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with current and emerging Employment Law.
  • Leading on and supporting HR projects and initiatives aligned with College priorities.
  • Overseeing core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and policy development.

You will have proven experience in line management and in influencing and advising senior managers on strategic and operational HR matters, based on a strong working knowledge of employment and equality law and HR best practice.  Experience in or a strong understanding of the further education sector and its unique HR context would be particularly valuable.

If you are passionate about innovation, inclusivity and continuous improvement then we would love to hear from you. You can be part of a visionary leadership team committed to making Solihull College a great place to work.
