About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food and Drink Lecturer to join our dynamic curriculum team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and industry-relevant teaching across Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Catering, and related programmes to students in Further Education and/or Higher Education settings.

You will inspire learners through high-quality teaching, practical demonstrations, and industry insight while supporting students to achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Food and Drink, Hospitality, Catering, or related subjects
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons, schemes of work, and assessment materials
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Support and motivate learners to achieve their full potential
  • Maintain accurate student records and attendance data
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and awarding body requirements
  • Participate in team meetings, open days, and enrichment activities

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Catering, Food & Beverage, or related discipline
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or willingness to work towards one)
  • Industry experience within hospitality, catering, restaurant, or food service environments
  • Experience teaching in Further Education, Higher Education, or training environments is desirable
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of current hospitality and food industry trends
  • Experience delivering practical and theoretical sessions
  • Experience with BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar qualifications
  • Strong classroom management and learner support skills
