Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Esports Lecturer to join a fantastic Further Education college in Greater Manchester on an ongoing basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across Esports programmes, helping learners develop the knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to progress within the Esports and wider digital industries.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess learner work and provide constructive feedback, while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and industry-relevant Esports lessons.
  • Deliver teaching across relevant Esports units and qualifications.
  • Develop learners’ theoretical knowledge and practical Esports skills.
  • Prepare and adapt teaching materials and resources to meet learner needs.
  • Assess learner work in line with college and awarding-body requirements.
  • Provide effective feedback to support learner development and progression.
  • Monitor learner attendance, engagement, achievement and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records.
  • Support learners with their academic, professional and personal development.
  • Promote professional standards and behaviours expected within the Esports industry.
  • Incorporate current industry developments, trends and practices into teaching.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider curriculum team.
  • Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support learners in progressing into employment, apprenticeships, higher education or further training.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Esports industry.
  • Relevant industry experience and/or experience delivering Esports education.
  • Experience working with learners within a Further Education or similar educational setting.
  • Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
  • A passion for Esports and supporting the next generation of industry professionals.
  • A relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent is desirable.
  • A relevant industry qualification or substantial professional experience within Esports is advantageous.

Working Hours

The role is 15 hours per week, delivered across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The position is ongoing, offering an excellent opportunity to secure regular part-time teaching work within a highly regarded Further Education college in Greater Manchester.
