We are currently working with a well-established Further Education College in Crawley that is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic English Lecturer to join its English department. This is a fantastic opportunity to support learners in developing the English skills they need to progress into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment while joining a supportive and forward-thinking college.

About the Role

• Deliver engaging and inspiring English teaching across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes
• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of a diverse range of learners
• Assess learner progress, provide timely feedback, and support students in achieving their qualifications
• Create an inclusive, positive, and motivating learning environment
• Contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement, and departmental development

What We’re Looking For

• A degree or recognised qualification in English or a related subject
• Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English
• Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
• A passion for helping learners develop their confidence and achieve their goals

Desirable

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
• Experience teaching within a Further Education College
• Knowledge of current GCSE and Functional Skills English specifications
• Experience supporting learners with a range of abilities and educational backgrounds
