The Role

As an English Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to students studying GCSE and Functional Skills English, supporting them to develop the skills and confidence needed for further study, employment, and everyday life.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons.
• Supporting students to achieve outstanding outcomes.
• Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the student experience.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

• A degree in English or a related subject.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
• Experience teaching English, ideally within Further Education, Secondary Education, or Adult Learning.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A genuine passion for education and learner success.
