Electrical Installation Lecturer

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £45,000 per annum

About the Role / Job Summary:

A well-regarded Further Education college in Northamptonshire is seeking an Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Levels 1-3. You will shape the next generation of electricians by planning and delivering engaging theory and practical sessions, embedding industry standards, and supporting learners to achieve qualifications and progress into apprenticeships or employment. You will join a supportive teaching community with access to well-equipped workshops and a culture of professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess Electrical Installation programmes at Levels 1-3.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track learner progress.
  • Support student engagement, behaviour, and wellbeing in line with safeguarding and college policies.
  • Build employer links to enhance work experience, curriculum relevance, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Recognised electrical qualification at Level 3 or above in Electrical Installation.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Assessor or IQA qualification is desirable but not required

Experience Requirements:

  • Industrial experience as a qualified electrician across installation, maintenance, or testing.
  • Experience teaching or training apprentices or FE learners desirable.
  • Competence delivering practical workshop activities and ensuring safe practice.
  • Familiarity with awarding body frameworks and quality assurance in FE.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching for mixed-ability groups and support learners to achieve.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.
