Electrical Installation Lecturer

Location: Birmingham

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary Ongoing

Rate: Competitive Hourly/Day Rate (DOE)

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Electrical Installation Lecturer to join a reputable Further Education college in Birmingham on a full-time, ongoing temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical professional to pass on their industry expertise and help develop the next generation of electricians. Whether you are an experienced Lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into education, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Electrical Installation teaching to Further Education learners.
  • Teach both practical workshop-based sessions and classroom theory.
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Ensure workshop activities comply with current health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Support learners to achieve qualifications and progress into employment or further study.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Relevant Electrical Installation qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Industry experience within electrical installation and maintenance.
  • Current knowledge of industry regulations and best practice.
  • Previous teaching, training, or assessing experience is desirable.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) is advantageous, although candidates looking to transition into teaching will also be considered.
  • Assessing and/or IQA qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
