You will manage incoming referrals, carry out risk and needs assessments, deliver safety planning, and provide advice and guidance to survivors and professionals. You will work closely with a team of IDVAs to ensure cases are triaged appropriately and allocated where necessary.

The post offers a balance of duty-based work, short-term intervention and multi-agency collaboration, with opportunities to provide hybrid support including face-to-face appointments, court and professional meetings.

  • Process and triage referrals in line with duty procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety planning with survivors

  • Provide short-term advice, guidance and support to survivors not open to ongoing casework
  • Contribute to team meetings, case reviews and service performance
  • Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date case records
  • Support the collection of outcomes, monitoring and service evaluation
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities for adults and children are upheld at all times
  • Embed equality, diversity and human rights principles throughout service delivery

About You

You will have:

  • Strong understanding of the impact of abuse on women, children and families
  • Proven experience of risk assessment, safety planning and crisis management
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for adults and children
  • Experience working within a multi-agency environment
  • Confidence advising on housing options, civil and criminal justice remedies
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills
  • Strong IT skills for recording, communication and research
  • A non-judgemental, survivor-centred approach with a commitment to self-care

Qualifications

  • IDVA qualification (SafeLives / Women’s Aid / DAPA or equivalent) is required for appointment at the qualified band
  • Ability to speak Bengali and/or Sylheti is desirable
