Construction Lecturer – Permanent Role

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Construction Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider in Abingdon. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to transition into teaching, or for an existing lecturer seeking a new challenge.

You will be delivering high-quality teaching across construction disciplines, helping learners develop the practical skills and knowledge required for careers in the construction industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across construction subjects (e.g. brickwork, carpentry, multi-skills)
  • Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments
  • Monitor and assess learner progress, providing timely feedback
  • Support students in achieving qualifications and employment goals
  • Maintain a safe workshop/classroom environment in line with health & safety standards
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Industry qualification in Construction (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or willingness to work towards one
  • Strong hands-on experience within the construction industry
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for education and developing future talent

Desirable

  • Previous teaching or training experience
  • Experience delivering to apprentices or FE learners
