Computer Science Lecturer

Location: Derby

Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time | Permanent / Temporary

Morgan Hunt is delighted to be working with a leading Further Education college to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computer Science Lecturer.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into teaching. You’ll play a key role in inspiring learners and helping them develop the skills needed for successful careers in the ever-evolving world of technology.

The Role

As a Computer Science Lecturer, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons across a range of FE programmes.
• Teach topics such as programming, cybersecurity, networking, databases, software development, and computer systems.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support learner progression.
• Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their full potential.
• Monitor learner progress and contribute to curriculum development where appropriate.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a related subject.
• Previous teaching experience within Further Education is desirable but not essential.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) is desirable. Candidates without a teaching qualification but with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting student success.
