Job Title: Chef Lecturer

Location: Greater Manchester

Pay Rate: £32-40 per hour

About the Role / Job Summary:

An FE College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef Lecturer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the food and hospitality area, specifically within their restaurant setting. The successful candidate will work closely with students, guiding them through practical kitchen operations and fostering their culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in culinary techniques.
• Run the restaurant and back-of-house operations with students.
• Oversee kitchen activities, ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Support students in achieving Level 2 and 3 BTEC qualifications.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Qualifications:

• Professional chef background with teaching experience preferred.
• Level 2 and 3 BTEC qualifications in relevant subjects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Education Requirements:

• Relevant culinary qualifications.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Experience Requirements:

• Previous experience in a teaching or training role.
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Ability to manage and mentor students effectively.
