Are you an inspiring educational leader with a passion for supporting learners with SEND and driving engagement across the curriculum? We’re working with an organisation based in Peterborough to recruit their next Assistant Head of SEND.

In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Head of Faculty to lead and develop high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across SEND and learner engagement programmes. You’ll help shape an inclusive, responsive curriculum that meets the needs of our learners and the local community, while ensuring continuous improvement and outstanding outcomes.

Our next Assistant Head will:

  • Support the strategic leadership and development of SEND and learner engagement curriculum areas.
  • Drive improvements in student satisfaction, progress, achievement, and destinations.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of teaching and support staff.
  • Ensure robust quality assurance and prepare for Ofsted and audit requirements.
  • Foster strong partnerships with employers, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

To be considered, you will need:

  • A teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent) and substantial teaching experience.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and achieving excellent learner outcomes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of SEND provision, curriculum development, and current FE sector priorities.
  • To be committed to continuous improvement, inclusion, and providing the best possible learning experience for every student.
