Arts and Design Lecturer

Location: Chichester

Salary: Upto £ 43 per hour

Contract: Part-time

Hours: 21 Hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Arts and Design Lecturer to join our team and inspire the next generation of artists and designers.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive, and industry-relevant teaching across a range of Arts and Design programmes. You will support students in developing their creative practice, technical skills, critical thinking, and professional portfolios, while encouraging experimentation and individual artistic expression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Arts and Design programmes.
  • Develop engaging projects and learning materials that encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking.
  • Support students in developing their artistic and technical skills across relevant disciplines.
  • Provide constructive feedback and effective assessment to help students achieve their potential.
  • Maintain accurate student records and contribute to course planning and quality assurance.
  • Support students with portfolio development and progression into higher education, employment, or creative industries.
  • Keep up to date with developments, technologies, and professional practices within the Arts and Design sector.
  • Contribute positively to the wider curriculum team and department activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Arts and Design and committed to providing an outstanding learning experience for students.

You will ideally have:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in Art, Design, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant teaching or training experience, preferably within further or higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary art and design practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate learners with different abilities and backgrounds.
  • Current industry or professional experience within the creative sector would be advantageous.
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, where applicable.
