AI Solutions Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on AI Solutions Engineer to design, build, deploy and support practical AI solutions across a complex professional services environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong AI platform knowledge with software development capability and will be comfortable working directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable AI solutions.

This role requires a practical engineer with experience delivering AI solutions into production environments. We are not seeking a purely strategic AI or innovation profile, nor a traditional data scientist without strong software engineering and solution delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and support AI solutions across the organisation.
• Work directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop secure, scalable and maintainable AI applications.
• Design prompts, grounding strategies and knowledge integrations to produce reliable AI responses.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing workflows and core business systems.
• Build proofs of concept and evaluate third-party AI platforms and tools.
• Contribute to build-versus-buy assessments for AI solutions.
• Ensure AI solutions meet requirements relating to security, data privacy, access controls and auditability.
• Support the adoption of trusted, reliable and explainable AI solutions across the business.
• Work collaboratively across teams, functions and international offices.

Required Experience

AI Engineering & Solution Delivery

• Practical experience building and deploying AI or machine learning solutions into production environments.
• Experience supporting AI solutions beyond proof-of-concept stage.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into business processes and workflows.
• Experience working with agentic AI solutions.

Microsoft AI Technologies

Strong experience with:

• Microsoft Copilot Studio
• Azure AI Foundry
• Azure DevOps

Software Development

• Strong software development capability.
• Experience developing solutions using Python.
• Experience with JavaScript or other development languages would be advantageous.

Generative AI & Machine Learning

• Solid understanding of:
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Machine Learning fundamentals
  • Prompt Engineering
• Experience designing prompts and grounding strategies.
• Experience integrating knowledge sources to improve AI response quality.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Understanding of:
  • AI security
  • Data privacy
  • Access controls
  • Auditability
• Awareness of:
  • GDPR
  • EU AI Act

Stakeholder Management

The successful candidate will be able to:

Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in genuinely hands-on AI engineers who have built and deployed production AI solutions, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem. Successful candidates will combine AI engineering expertise, software development capability and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver practical, business-focused AI solutions.
